Picture Time!

So, I figure what better time than now to show some pictures of things that I have been able to experience up here so far.  I will upload more as I get time - Maybe if I get a smart phone I can upload them faster... Forgive me for the strange formatting on some of them, I had to do some jimmy-rigging to get this up, but here it is... enjoy! (You can click any of the pictures to get a bigger/better view)

This is at the dog mushing camp here in Juneau (I am sure Adrienne would love this place)
The dogs get SO excited to pull you in the cart they have set up!
They have about 120 dogs at this camp alone, and there are other camps around this area as well (some of them are actually on the glaciers that surround this area.

This picture was taken shortly after I rode with one of my friends to Wal-Mart on her scooter
I'm sure we looked a little bit like Dumb and Dumber as we were flying down Egan Drive at a whopping 32 mph in the rain - I could not see very well because of the rain on my glasses, and so she gave me some "windshield wiping" with her fingers... it was pretty funny.  I remember I was cold and soaked as the wind was blasting me in the face, and then I thought to myself..."I am cold and wet, but I am in Alaska - this is awesome!"

Here are the 4 bears that I have seen 3 times now!! This time I was riding my bike home from work (I have seen them twice as I have ridden home, and one other time in the same general area during work (the tourists were going crazy!!!)

Me and my buddies about to head out for my birthday dinner! Our work vests got us many complements that night.  We went to Pizzeria Roma down at the Wharf - some of us had pizza, but I got the Lasagna - it was really good.  (We are in the lobby of the Baranof Hotel right here - May 11, 2011)

Some of the 17,000,000 Acres of the Tongass National Forest - it is the biggest temperate rainforest in the entire world.  I go here usually every day that I am doing tours to take people to see the Mendenhall Glacier.

This is right outside of "The Hangar" - it is a restaurant on the water by downtown - Adam and I got some halibut nachos here - it was good!!

This is one of my favorite pictures - one of my co-workers was using this helmet to protect himself from the smoke, while he was cooking hot dogs for us - it was epic...  This was the second bon-fire beach time we have had as co-workers.  It was pretty ridiculous - there were about 20 of us this time, and one of the guys who is a dock representative (his name is Von) - he brought about 10 instruments for everyone to play while we were around the fire - it was awesome - Sandy beach @ Douglas Island

Some baby icebergs in Mendenhall Lake (this lake was completely frozen over the first week I was here in the beginning of May) - The Mendenhall Glacier is directly to the right of where this picture is showing.

You can see the Glacier in the right most part of this picture

Adam, myself, and a few other co-workers visited The Shrine of St. Therese and this was the beach right before you get there - the things I am holding would make a funny popping noise when you squeezed it - kind of like nature's bubble-wrap I guess.

Walking up to the Shrine of St. Therese (you can see the statue towards the middle of the picture - to the left a little bit)

The beach where Adam and I were standing earlier with the bubble wrap - The water is so clear everywhere you go here!
